Black History Month

On Saturday, February 29, 2020, U.S. Embassy Accra hosted a black history month gala at the West Africa Regional Training Center (RTC). High-level guests included Ambassador Stephanie Sullivan, USAID Mission Director Sharon Cromer and the Chief of Ghana’s Army Staff- Major General Oppong Peprah. Accompanying the General were Brigadier Generals Gyane, Essien, Osei-Owusu and Amoah-Ayisi, from the Government of Ghana (GoG). Additionally, various U.S. Government and GoG entities such as USAID, FBI, DEA, IRM, RAO, DAO and Embassy Accra locally employed staff (LES) attended the well organized event. Approximately 100 guests were in attendance. The event dubbed “Motown Gala” climaxed the celebration of the Black History Month Celebration in Ghana.
